Giving yourself an assignment

After putting up my website Portraits and Abstracts I realized that the flower gallery needed more substance and color. So my assignment was to take a group of colorful flower images.

Not just vivid color, I wanted a range of colors and color intensities: from white to yellow to red to blue, soft colors, vivid colors, and complementary color combinations. And show a variety of approaches: extreme closeups, intimate landscapes, as well as portraits of single flowers and flower groups using a variety of focal lengths.

Click the image below to visit the new pages for this project. If you’ve visited here before, some of these will be familiar, but many are new. There are ten in the set. Comments appreciated!

There’s another new project there as well – but maybe I’ll save that for a later post.

  1. Eu adoro flores, principalmente as flores campestres. Em Portugal, na Primavera, há flores campestres muito bonitas, nessa estação o Alentejo parece um jardim.
