Small cascade

I love waterfalls, but there aren’t many in my area. To get my fix of falling water I look for small scale cascades like this one, just a foot high or so:


This one is from Kiln Brook in a conservation area in my town. To make this one, I combined two exposures at different apertures and shutter speeds, a slow shutter to capture soft water and a fast one for better ice detail.

  1. Tom, I love the outcome of blending those two images. It’s hard to capture ice and flowing water in one photo. You really have the knack for coming up with great results.
