Some stream ice in a shady spot:
Usually I prefer a black and white conversion for ice, but I like the indigo look the dark tones take on. Real cold out there this morning – 2 degF, brrr. I was hoping for feathery ice, but there wasn’t any.
Nice tones! I think the blue was a better choice for this image than a b&w conversion.
Nice ice abstraction and I like the blue tones even though it makes it obvious that it’s ice. With BW conversion the guessing might have been harder.
I think the deep blue is perfect for this image. Excellent capture!
I can see this working both ways. I have a preference for monochrome for ice patterns also, but every once in awhile you need that dose of realism. I like the way the shapes tend to lead your eyes back and forth along the diagonal.
