Henry’s Elfin

Along with the wave of spring flowers, spring butterflies started flying a few weeks ago. Here’s an early one, Henry’s Elfin:

These started flying almost a month ago, but I didn’t find any locally until the third week in April. Tiny (the size of a nickel) and fast, you find them on heathy hilltops and open situations around the time the lowbush blueberry starts flowering.
