Cedar twig

A pretty little thing I saw on the ground at Arnold Arboretum in Boston:

There were bright maple reds and yellows overhead where I took this, but the warm browns of the oak leaf and hemlock caught my eye instead (well, I think it’s hemlock, could be cedar). The bright silver tip was interesting as well.

    • Thanks, Steve. I think you’re right – hemlock has short broad needles, not the segmented ones here. American white cedar (aka Arborvitae) looks pretty similar. Since this was the Arboretum, it could be from China. Post title changed…
