American Copper at sunset

A favorite little butterfly in an image from late this past summer:

It might as well be summer still – temperatures are still up in the 50s F, and there have only been a few frosts and a little snow. Doesn’t seem like December at all…

  1. I miss them too. Depending on the weather, we may still see a few Sulphurs (yellows) if it stays in the 60s F. Or see a Comma or Mourning Cloak that wakes up from its winter nap.

  2. Yeh, I love them too this small butterflies and they are the only family I’m used to take pictures off in France. The only time i use the 100mm macro is for them 😉 Beautiful shot with a wonderful light!
