Holiday snowflake
It’s snowed this morning, just few flakes, not even a flurry. I hope more falls soon – bring on the cold weather!
I was busy with other stuff and couldn’t get outside, so here’s a snowflake from last winter:
Best wishes to everyone, but especially to everyone who takes the time to stop in here.
Just gorgeous, Tom. I hope your holiday is merry and bright! 🙂
Totally amazing that you were able to get that level of detail ~ beautiful!!!
Beautiful details and colours, Tom. Merry Christmas time to you and yours.
Insight into snow… thanks for the posting!
Thanks for stopping in, Sue. Hope all is well with you…long time no see!
Disappointing winter so far, Tom. I remember this one…totally enjoyable. I hope we get to see more soon. Merry belated Christmas and Happy New Year!
lovely! mid 60s here today and i am dreaming of a good snow!
Cool shot! What equipment did you use?
Thanks! That was taken with the Canon MP-E 65, lens that gives 1x to 5x magnification. The image was at 3x or 4x, and the snowflake was a few millimeters across. I used a tripod and a focusing rack as well.
Jaw dropping shot. I’m a nikon freak so i’m curious to know what body are you using?
Gee….this shot is unreal…….your macro work is fantastic……I’m going to enjoy following along!!!
Wow ! Amazing ! It’s not everyday that we can see a close-up view of a snowflake.
