I found this newly emerged female Azure bluet in dappled shade. It perched nicely while I snapped away, as the filtered light grew and faded:

The males have the pretty blue color, but I caught this female at a moment she looked her best.

Superior macro!!! Cheers Nonoy Manga
Tom:
Loved your damselfly image! I am a retired biology professor and amateur photographer. I absolutely love your macro work! What type Canon body do you have? lenses? focusing rail? Can I email you directly?
Thanks for the kind words. I use a Canon 5DMkII, macro lenses, focus rail, and a tripod. There’s more of that information on my “about” page, and a video that shows me at work on images. I welcome email…
Beautiful macro!
Thanks for stopping in, Gracie!
It is not easy getting attractive photos of damselflies and dragonflies. I like the profile view….her wings look like they are made of glass.
Thanks, Tracy – the dappled light gave the wings that sheen. Just lucky I guess!
perfect and beautiful 🙂
