Five Elements

I’m in a group exhibit that opened today. Here’s the postcard (my design) – please stop by if you’re in the area:

There’s a story to go with the postcard. I signed up to design the postcard, featuring a beautiful ceramic horse by Lainie Dearden. I thought I could photograph the horse using a print of a pasture photograph in the background, but I couldn’t print the photograph big enough – the horse is pretty large. So I combined a photograph of the horse alone with a crop of the pasture image to get the proportions right. The back of the postcard has the other half of the tree in black and white. Collaboration was a theme for the exhibit – working with Lainie was one of the more exciting things I’ve done in a while. The original photo and the horse are side by side in the gallery. I also have a beach stone image paired with ceramic stones by Monique Heymann.
