Notes from the field, essays, and observations.
Sometimes I look down and see an image there for the taking. That was the story with this one, a single bluet flower that came up among lacy yarrow foliage:
… and I have to say it again: absolute perfection. Five stars!
This is a wonderful capture, Tom, as we can see the fine detail in the delicate petals and just the composition overall as well. I like this!
It was tricky getting the camera aligned with the petals shooting wide open – thanks, Janina!
It’s so still, it’s like a gasp and the world stopped moving.
And the colors are so pure. Really lovely.
I certainly stopped moving when I looked down and saw it – I’d been chasing butterflies for an hour, then saw something completely different at my feet. Moments later, the breeze wrecked the arrangement of yarrow and flower. Thank you!
So much expression in this soft and delicate image, Tom. Lovely.
I’d hoped you’d like this Steve – I know you’re a bluet fan. A little unusual to see a single one…
You have seen a very beautiful picture.
Thanks for the kind words. This was one where I saw the composition immediately – this is first frame.
this is such an amazing shot 🙂
High praise coming from you, Joshi! 🙂
Thanks Anita – I probably err to the side of simplicity too often, but I think it suits this image.
Wonderful image , love the comp you came up with !!
