Snow on Lone Tree Hill
I think I’m going to go back to the hill across a few seasons. Last week the snow fell heavily for a few hours:
I headed to the hill while it was snowing, hoping to capture snow falling. For a while, the flakes were in lumps the size of cotton balls, but that tapered off by the time I got up to the tree. It’s still snowing, but the flakes are too small to be noticeable.
I am probably just imagining, but I see something like sugar grains in the photo…
Maybe I did capture the snow falling… Thanks, Vera!
P e r f e c t !
Thanks for the kind words!
What a great tree. Great capture and glad you shared it.
Thanks – I like this tree enough I think I’ll try a series of it. Not sure if I have the best angle yet…
great mood and a beautiful image 🙂
In the previous post you mentioned the dense woods and woody hilltop. In this image the snow lightens the band of trees in the background, with the result that I find less distraction from your primary subject and a greater harmony with it.
Thanks Steve – I may try the other side of this tree to get a view that lessens the background tree line.
What a beautiful image Tom !
Thanks, Jocelyne – it’s a tree I’ve learned to love.
This is a really nice capture of a snowy day, Tom. Reminds me of Ansel’s Oak Tree, Snow Storm.
I don’t think my image is close to the drama of Adam’s image… but I’m glad you like it!
I love trees in winter and this is a great tree
