Every year, when the daisies start to bloom, I see these bugs feeding on the flower pollen:
I finally found out the name of this bug recently. Why “scentless”? I guess because they aren’t a stink bug, a cousin insect to this group (Rhopalinae).

Looks like a stinkbug from the side. Aren’t they also called shield bugs sometimes, too?
It’s similar, but it’s narrower than a stink bug. Stink bugs have a wider body. Both have that long tubular mouth part.
Interesting. I put lots of bugs in my MG novel. I have a big encyclopedia of them. I’m turning into a bug geek. LOL
http://bugguide.net is a good online resource for insect ID – that’s how I found this bug’s name.
