Columbine in green horsetail moss:

  1. I saw my first wild columbines this year, and was astonished by them. You’ve captured them beautifully. I’m always fond of this sort of pairing, and it really works here.

    • The image idea was to set the sharp foreground flower against the soft greens, and the out of focus background flower. I wanted more out of focus columbines, but that’s all I had in this sea of green.

  2. This image is delectable! I really love it. In my garden I once had the native columbines, but over the years they faded away and purple cultivars arrived. I didn’t plant them and somehow they just aren’t the same.
