Seeds and fibers
Lately I’ve been exploring the seed phase of flowers. Three follow: common milkweed, Black-eyed Susan (Rudbeckia), and a tiny aster:
Happy new year, everyone!

As far as some of us are concerned, you’re preaching to the choir.
Let’s see what seeds will germinate in the new year.
I’m planning a trip to Northern California, so I won’t have to wait until April to see what germinates here. I’ve found wildflowers in January there: https://tomwhelan.wordpress.com/2016/02/05/calendula/
Living in central Texas, I can attest to wildflowers in January, too. Good luck on your trip to northern California. Even without wildflowers, you’ll find so much in nature there.
And, a Happy New Year too.
Thanks, David!
I might have recognized all three, but the treatments are delightful. I especially like the Black-eyed Susan. Theres a lot to admire in that one: the sense of movement, the unusual colors, the hairs. Even the pattern in the disk flowers is visible — amazing.
The seed fibers on the Black-eyed Susan were fun to watch as they danced around in the breeze. Thanks for the kind words, Linda!
Beautiful 🙂
The closer you look, the more marvelous they are. Lucky you to be heading to Northern California!
