Aster and bee

The same flower as last week’s post, this time with a halictid bee:

I found the bee on the flower, and was taken by the green/purple color combination. It crawled around the flower slowly (it was a cool afternoon), giving me a few opportunities. Then it took off, and I took last week’s image.

  1. Ahhh… With Thanksgiving over, and my move still a day or so away, and fog over the land, there’s time for catching up, and this was a perfect beginning. I’ve seen these blue and green metallic bees, but I never had noticed that the metallic sheen actually is glitter-like. That’s an extraordinary capture of the actual surface of the bee. I just can’t stop looking at it!
