Moss capsules
I started photographing moss capsules last year, and I’ve been watching for the first spore capsules of the season:
By this time last year, I saw several different species. These were the first I found in several locations I’ve been checking.

So elegant !
The first thing that unaccountably came to mind was “Three Little Maids from School” from The Mikado. That led me to see this trio as three kids hanging their heads as they were chastised by a parent or teacher!
They do look like guilty children! Some day I’ll figure out how to capture the appearance of a large group of these – probably in a long pano. I found another moss species to photograph the other day, perhaps I’ll get a chance to photograph it this weekend.
