They are abundant now. Guess they like the cool rainy weather.
Cool and rainy is exactly the weather I’ve been having. The dandelions like, but so do the woodland wildflowers, I just saw hundreds of trillium at Garden in the Woods.
I had to laugh when I saw this because I posted a very similar pic today. Dandelions are some of my favorite things to photography because they hold so much interest at the macro level. That and all the varieties you can get out of a single plant are amazing.
I never would have guessed dandelion. I’ve spent so much time photographing our native Texas dandelion I’m not sure I’ve ever seen that deep structure of the European version. It’s really lovely.
What I like about your photo, apart from the detail, is the placement of the flower. Being just a little off center increases the appeal, I think.
The pattern at the center caught my eye – it was so regular and unblemished. Putting the detailed area off center is an old compositional habit for me. Thanks for the kind words!
Dandelion?
That’s it! Didn’t take long 🙂

A fine image on your blog – hope your sale goes well! There’s are so many images you can make with this flower.
Thanks! At some point I want to try and get some images with it in seed.
I like the seeds more than the flower. Here are a couple of older ones of mine:
Hanging seed
Sunset dandelion
Love those! There is so much detail and interest in the seeding dandelions.
Love this Tom
Thanks!
Flowers in the daisy family are good at packing.
The structures at the center are so regular – almost like tansy, another composite.
Loved this 🙂
Thanks, Joshi!
Of course I LOVE this one! 😀
It’s your color!
