Snowflakes
A closeup of a few snowflakes on a tree branch:
This is a composite of several images stacked together – for more depth of field for the foreground snowflake. All of the images were taken at close to 5x magnification with the MP-E65 lens. Sorry I’ve been absent from blogging – I’ve been traveling, taking down exhibits, and I just put up a new exhibit.
Did you ever try to catch a snowflake just to look at it closely? I have.
Oh yes – I always check them out as they are falling to see if they’re nicely crystalline. I just let them fall on a sleeve and peer at them. Thanks for commenting…
Beautiful!
Thanks!
Nice visit into another world, Tom. You really have taken your MP-E65 places I don’t think were on the Canon engineers’ minds.
Beautiful!
Look at the shape of these snowflakes, they are amazing !
I wish they were all as nice as these. I was photographed snow recently, and there were not crystal shapes at all – just irregular ice. Thanks…
This is really sweet Tom!
Thanks, Mark!
looks excellent in black and white 🙂
